Nine times out of ten the gutter is fine. The board it is screwed to is the problem.
Gutter repair on Ozark's older housing is frequently not a gutter repair at all, and saying so has cost us work often enough that it is worth putting at the top of the page.
A hanger screw holds because it bites into solid timber. When a fascia board has spent decades absorbing water from an overflowing gutter above it, the outer half-inch stays sound and the wood behind it goes soft. The screw still turns. It just no longer holds anything. Re-hang the gutter into that and it will pull again within a season or two - and you will reasonably conclude the repair was bad.
We back a screw out and look at what comes with it, and we press the board at the hanger positions along the run. Sound timber resists. Compromised timber gives under a thumb, and it is usually worst directly under the sections that have been overflowing longest.
If it fails that test the honest answer is that the fascia needs replacing before any gutter goes back on it, and that is a carpenter's job. We will say which sections, photograph them, and hand you the information - we do not do fascia replacement and there is nothing behind the advice.
Where the board is sound, the repairs are the ordinary ones and they hold: re-hang at proper spacing, reseal the joints, sort the downspout run.
Reseal a seam or end cap, $75-$150. Reattach or extend a downspout, $85-$175. Re-hang a sagging run into sound fascia, $150-$350 depending on length.
