Three Towns, Three Different Problems

These are neighbours on the map and they do not produce the same work, which is why each city has its own pages rather than one page with the name swapped.

Dothan is about scale and rainfall. The city takes roughly 56 inches of rain a year against a national average of 38, and it arrives as Gulf-fed storms that drop an inch in twenty minutes onto flat Wiregrass terrain with very little natural grade to help. A large share of the housing is 1950s-70s ranch: wide, low-pitch roofs feeding an ordinary 5-inch gutter. Half the "leaking gutter" calls here turn out to be a system that is simply undersized.

Enterprise is about a cohort. The EF4 tornado of 1 March 2007 destroyed 239 homes and badly damaged 374 more, and the rebuilding was concentrated into about two years. That left a large part of the town with gutter systems installed inside the same short window, to the same spec, by the same few crews - so they age together and fail together. We have had weeks where three calls on one street were the identical fault.

Ozark is about age. The blocks around the historic square are the oldest housing we work on, under mature oak rather than pine, and on that stock the fragile part is almost never the gutter. It is the original timber fascia behind it. That changes the job from gutter work into a carpentry question, and we say so even though it means handing the work to somebody else.

Pricing is the same in all three. Dothan is our home route and runs same-week; Ozark and Enterprise each have a set route day, which is how they stay at the same price with no travel surcharge.
